I've been working on a character for this site, but I'm stuck on how he came in contact/discovery of his powers. I'm afraid the "exposure to toxic substances" is too cliched. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
If you're wondering what the power is, i plan on having him use super sound via eletric guitar + some eletricity abilities.

I'm really just taking a chance on this one but maybe it could have been an accident. I don't know, maybe he could have just been playing the guitar when something went wrong with the wiring and everything began to fry. Causing electrical currents to flow through the guitar and into your character. It could have possibly shocked him, while still holding his grip on the guitar, and caused changes to take place in his body. Then maybe you can have this small explosion for affect and have him thrown to the ground unconscious. So when he wakes up nothing really seems different and he doesn't notice it until things start acting funny or he plays his guitar again. But that's just me, I just seem to have an odd imagination so don't pay any mind to me, hun. o.O Well, I hope it gave you some ideal instead of freaking you out.

Simple my dear friend, Meta-Gene is the answer... Pure and simple what Meta-Gene is, is the genetic abnormality that causes superpowers in individuals.. now true some have accidents that cause these abnormalities, but others are born with them.. just strange mutations if you will. Also the Meta-Gene can be implemented manually by genetic surgery, which is done on a molecular level.
I know I have both helped and done nothing to help at the same time... I hope you enjoyed my comic book super nerd babble.. which I'm sure sounds very technical.. now if I can only pass Biology this year.. we'll be good...
