Have you ever woken from a dream and not known where you are. Completely oblivious eveon to the most familiar surroundings. Wells thats how Kent awoke. Like a momentary amnesia for a few escuciating seconds his mind divulged into oblivion.

His deep green eyes flickered open. A cool light breeze was running across his face and chilling his body. All that he mustered was a "huh?". Geting up suddenly he looked to Lydia his eyes full of questions " Lydia ?" he said with a voice filled with misunderstanding. His face held a slight heir of a confused child before sliding back to his cool demeanor.

Sitting back down again he breathed deep and let thinsg sldie back into place. It onyl took a few moments and Kent woudl understand. It was like a reset. As if his mind had wiped itself to contain his thoughts. But now it was clearer and he half-remebered why eh was out here in the start of the twilight hour.

" How come your out here so late?" he said in a less questioning and more recognisable Kent-esqué voice. His arms held ligthly aroudn his knees as he met Lydias gaze. Technically he wasnt being hypocritical. Everybody knew and expected him to go wlakabout at night. Kent liked the darkness and the fact that he would near certain be alone when he needed it most.

Lydia , well she seemed to not be the type to delve into this place at night. Kent knew the air-controller only slightly from a fleeting greeting in the elemental practice rooms. Not exactly best friends but lsigthly more than aqqaintences. You get the drill.

He looked aimlessly out at the ocean for a second. To her question if he was alright well what could he say. Kent was never truely alright. It take sit out of you when there was never anyone there to actually care if you were alive in the morning. To everyone he was dangerous. It was actually surprising she was even here talking to him. He had a 'reputation' even though barley anyone truely knew him. They just knew hsi story and added bits to it to make him look the freak.

" Not really ..but I cant complain " he said offering Lydia a smile. He had that feeling she was holding something back but he had no honest right to pry, even if she woudl of been in the same need to talk as him btu then Kent never talked to anybody. He was apparently down in everyone eyes as the strong silent type or whatever.

" Come on you've gotta be out here for a reason " he said giving her a knowing look" I didnt have you down as the late-night wandering type " he gave her a cute lopsided smile. Somehow he just didnt feel so anti-social at the moment

Kents parents well he didnt know who they were. He couldnt remember any time before his 9th birthday. Back then he was running riot with a gang of kids quite contently. He guessed back then his powers hadnt kicked in. Or the others were not bothered enough to notice any changes in him. Anyway thats why he was in the cages by 16. Nobody cared abotu what happened to him. Just what cut he earned for the organizers. Then they dragged him here and told him it was alright - when it wasnt. It really wasnt.

" Thats rough Lydia " he said honestly " fuck knows who my folks were. Guess they dumped me somewhere. People dont tend to want me around for long " The statement wasnt based around self pity. It came out as more of a stated fact. Kent wasnt wanted anywhere. They only let him in here because they saw the sheer power of the kid and decided against leaving him for a villain to pick up.

It wasnt a typiacl thing for people to confide in Kent. Now because he woudl blab or anything but because he wasnt expected to have feelings even though he did. Ok a lot of his feelings ended in anger but he wasnt a shell - his powers may be rooted in darkness but that didnt make him dead to the world.

" You cold? " he said simply. The nights chill must of been taking a toll on the girl as she was only wearing a tank. He slid of the zip-up hoody he was wearing and handed it to her. Kent didnt need it - a lot of the time the cold didnt seem to bother him.

Kent didnt know if he had family. Brothers ? sisters? or what. Whether they were cast the same die and powers as Kent or they were normal as every other kid in the world. Questions to be filled and he had honestly never thought about it - or tried not to. They woudlnt count as his faily.Just strangers with the same blood.

It differed on circumstances " No - maybe once when I was little but not now - They didnt want me then so they wont want me now " What would he do?. Track them down and turn up on their doorstop. He could just picture the conversation.' Hey by the way im the son you left to die on the streets - hows it going?' .Joy. He glanced to Lydia and for once Kent seemed a bit ..hurt?

He didnt know why he was explaining to her. He never told anyone about this - anyone covering just about everybody. Nobody would actually care anyway. Not even the teachers. Most of them didnt expect Mr.Chaos to even make a hero let alone deserve proper attention. Somehow - he could kind of relate on the parents front. Maybe they didnt have the same views but it was just a kind of natural understanding.

" Helps me think , calms me down and all that - Besides its good to get away form all the rumours and the talk. They get into you head eventually if you dont take time off " He was refering to every stupid little word that went around about him. The rumours werent usually in the best sense. Words seemed to speak louder than actions around here. He met her gaze with his own green eyes and smiled lightly. It made handsome contrast from the dark rugged features of his face.

The moon decided to finally pick up. The beach once divulged in complete dark was alightened and spread upon the pair sitting on the sand. It was hovering just above the ocean like a milky disk of light and as Kents eyes left the sphere and back to Lydia - she looked pretty damn beautiful in the moonlight. And when Kent spouted that stuff he tended to mean it.
