His name is….Jonathan Maverick Aworo

Just call him…Mav or John

Been around for 18 years

His curse…. Mav is a creature of the night, made by the devil, for the devil. He can take any form at will; can become anything within the limits of his own imagination. I suppose we shall just call this ability shapeshifting, as those before us have. However, his true form isn’t human, as you might expect. While he is most often in human form, he was born with the Iratus (eer-ay-tis) gene, which causes a bug-like mutation. Therefore he is more monster than man, and he doesn’t aim to change that, but stays human just for the sake of not attracting attention.

His physique… Tall and well muscled, he carries himself lazily, drifting about, almost unaware of where his feet are, but graceful in a eerie way. A rather handsome fellow, he has a long, slender face, and thick, dark hair, which seems to be impossible to tame. His intense eyes are the color of the afternoon sky, a clear, shining blue.

John usually wears something along the lines of a black T-shirt or flannel shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and dark jeans. Although usually in boots or hiking shoes, he wears tennis shoes while exercising (obviously).

When in his true, Iratus form, his hair and forehead remain the same, while the rest of his body is covered in a dark blue exoskeleton-like skin. His knuckles become bone hard, and his nails become black and extend into claws. Ridges appear on his neck and jaw line, and his eyes morph from dazzling blue to a yellowish gold color, his pupils elliptical, like those of a snake, instead of round.

His persona…An intense but quiet person, he’s the kind of guy that will sneak in while everyone is chatting idly, listen carefully, then give an unsettling comment that instantly ends the conversation. His speech is intelligible and well thought out, and he would seem nice enough, if not for the tremor of morbidity in each word he says that sends shivers down your spine.

He is a hard man to get to know, almost impossible to read, for he hardly ever shows any emotion besides dripping mischief, the previously mentioned morbidity, and pungent sarcasm. However, his friendship is a valuable thing, albeit something he rarely, if ever, gives out.

Mischief brings us to the next element of his person. Mav has come to be known as a trickster, always looking for trouble, always slipping between the fingers of administration like a light mist, unstoppable in its quest through the forest. If it can be done, he can do it, though not always without incident.

Needless to say, he is not exactly a people person. Don’t expect anything more than a quiet face and a disconcerting smirk until you get to know him well.

His origin…They knew from day one that he was different, when he was born a creature to a human mother, who had had no idea her ex-husband was a mutated shapeshifter, and that her son would be passed these traits. Knowing there would be no rest for her until the boy learned to hide his curse, she dumped him at the nearest orphanage and was off. Soon enough, he had figured out how to change, and could pose as a human, as human as the rest of those in the orphanage, though they already knew to be terrified of him. Despite looking like them, he still held the inclinations of the creature, which included a certain amount of lust for human blood.

They sent him away after the third child disappeared, but, having been practicing the art of shapeshifting, he escaped, and wandered about for a good many years, learning how to act human, and eventually weaning himself off human flesh.

Eventually he ended up here, looking to further distance himself from his creature half.

But, undeniably, a part of him is still savage, still thirsts for fresh meat. Who knows? Some people change…and some don’t.

His interests…. Mav enjoys studying history and religion, especially the really gory stuff. He will read any religious sacred book, and has, from the Torah (Jewish Holy Book) to the Koran (Islam Holy Book) to the Bible (please tell me you at least know that). However, he doesn’t really follow any direct path, and prefers to believe what he believes and nothing else, although he likes to hear other’s opinions on the matter. Despite his own DNA, he is repulsed by bugs of any sort, though would rather destroy them than run away.

RP sample: (Pardon my laziness. Old post. XD)

Abroad his mind the ships were sailing endlessly, an ocean of thoughts set free from his arrival in the lands that would be known for their loneliness if the darks didn't take it up a notch. Perhaps he would have to call them all to order, but that would be later, when some single celled organism beckoned his corpse from the grave to show them how to thread the needle of his life once more, and create a great heir to the throne for when his eyes were dimmed and he was passed. Hopefully that would be never, but you never know how never will turn out, unless you've seen forever, which, to his knowledge, no one yet had.

Forever was elusive; some called it just a state of mind, and some called it the never ending cycle of snows and June rain clouds tumbling throughout the rotation of the earth. Maybe it was one of these, maybe it was both. To him though, forever was the promise of never, and never was all abundant in Neverland, ironically and contradictorily. Some thought Neverland was just a place where forever haunted you, but it was more than that, he knew. It was how the sun rose unconditionally each day, and how the moon beat it down with darkness each night, how it faded away like the ghost of the past, and how it loomed in the distance like the call of the future.

But was it really that simple, the fact of life and all not living? Were rocks really just the enlarged groupings of million of atoms, filled with spinning electrons, or were they something more? A sign from space, maybe, or even one from the ones that came before us, and those still to come. Pompeii pondered this often, and he often was very annoyed when the bugle sound of a mare disturbed him into the immature killings of the dark world today. The smell of the rabbit was the first thing, not to mention the rather stupidly pounding hooves of the wench as she entered. Didn't they have enough sense to keep quiet until the initial scream? Again her scream split the air, then a cackle from another time, another place.

With the stealth of a fox he trotted regally into her path, stopping to gaze her in the eye with a ferocity only those who had met him could imagine. Even on the hill he looked down on her, letting his gaze waver to the dead rabbit at the foot of the incline that she had so boldly loped up, with no regard for how he would punish her for assuming she could so quickly ascend to a rank that would demand such actions. Disgust was written all over his scar encrusted dial, and his hooves smashed into the ground in an indignant strike to the dirt.

"There is a thin barrier between bravery and foolishness!"

His voice thundered like the frequent clouds out into the trees. Maybe even the drifting spirit of the rabbit would hear as it plotted it's revenge through reincarnation, for indeed everything that stepped here was either evil or prisoner.

"Speak, but if you have a sharp tongue, expect to lose it!"

Dial held high, he swished his tail in impatience. He was being a bit of a grouch, but no one took kindly to such disrespect, probably not even the light king. If the mare wanted to talk back, she would be punished, although he would let her just for the raw amusement of it. If she tried another show of brawns, he could easily ignore her, turning up his head at such poser behavior. Anyone could kill a rabbit. The only real way to please him would be to kill a light and bring back the head so he could watch you drink the brains out. This was a bit gruesome, but you needed to separate brave lights from real, hating darks.

Anything else we should know about your character? He hums out of tune Johnny Cash songs. XD Just kidding…nope…nothing much…

Picture? (Optional) I shall do it soon. Erica knows who I’m going to use. XD

About you: La de da…I live in Texas, I like guns, horses, SGA, and creeping out Zacky-poo. XD

What's your name? (First only) Cookie! XD No, I ish Kaitlin, Katie….I only answer to Com, so call me that if you intend to have intelligible conversation. Otherwise, don’t even bother. XD

Codes and Such: (Found in the Rules): Intertwine vines, winged monkeys (I know that was your idea, Erica. XD)

(Excuse the painful shortness…I was being rushed…again…XD)

Zack, no. For one, Joe is NOT 50 years old, nor does he look like it. You cannot possibly comprehend how annoying it is to be around someone who does things like that just because they don't like them. Aside from that, the picture, as I told you earlier, hardly matters. It is merely something to help the other people to get a mental image.

Second, as I also said earlier, of the gazillion people in the world, do you not believe it is possible for two people to be remotely similar, perhaps only sharing one trait that is alike?

Third, the age thing. That's not such a big deal. She probably won't mind changing the age, so long as you're actually nice about it.

Admin or not, by creating a site and inviting members, you are entering yourself into the responsibility of caring for your members' feelings, whoever they may be.

One more thing. Sarcasm is completely unnecessary. Keep in mind other people can see what you say- it's a definite turn off for newcomers.

And for me, if I do say so myself.
